Ready or not, here we go

Since Alex was born we have talked about moving abroad as a family. For a while we thought we would go to China, but lately that hasn't seemed like such a good idea.

A good friend of ours said that the best years for this adventure would be either 6th or 7th grade for Alex. We didn't get our act together to do it in 6th grade, so we figured we have to do it now.

Two years ago we started thinking about where to go. We considered Lyon, Paris, Geneva, and Amsterdam. Since we had some friends from the Netherlands who had lived next to us for 18 months, Alex was already interested in the country and the culture.

When the kid is on board it makes it so much easier, so we settled on Amsterdam.

Since then we've been talking to a bunch of VCs and startups in the Netherlands. We've even rented a house (picture below).

We leave June 16. Here we go....
